Firefighters were called to woodland in Park Street this morning after a small fire started.
A crew rushed to the wooded area, just off the A414 near the Park Street roundabout, at 7.15am.
The blaze was near to where a group of people were camping, but is thought to have started accidently.
The Highways Agency was also called to the scene to help control the traffic on the busy road.
The firefighters remained at the scene until about 8.55am.
