Budding historians in St Albans could be in with a chance of winning Mayor's Prize 2014
People in St Albans are being encouraged to submit a piece of work, which makes an important contribution to the history of St Albans, as part of the Mayor's Prize 2014.
An annual prize, currently £100, is on offer to applicants, who are in full time education or working as amateur historians. Applicants are expected to demonstrate the originality of their work and critical usage of primary sources.
Submissions can be in the form of an essay of between about 5,000-10,000 words, including any illustrations.
The prize is organised by the St Albans and Hertfordshire Architectural and Archaeological Society on behalf of St Albans District Council.
All submissions must be received by the Society before the last day of April. To enter visit http://www.stalbanshistory.org/documents/Mayors_Prize_2014_entry_form.pdf.
