The Rotary Club of St Albans Verulamium has donated £750 towards a new training DVD, which aims to raise awareness of the issues facing young carers in Hertfordshire.
The DVD called ‘See Hear Act’ was made by young carers to help staff see when young people have taken on a caring role, hear them and take action to refer them for support.
Trevor Miles, Rotary Club president, said: "We are delighted to be associated with the production of the See Hear Act DVD and we believe that it will help GPs to identify young carers who could benefit from the services of carers in Hertfordshire’s work with young carers."
This part of work by the county’s leading charity for unpaid carers carers in Hertfordshire to support young carers and is backed by the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and the Royal College of GPs (RCGP).
On Thursday, April 10 young carer Grace Huxtable, 16 presented Dr Nicolas Small, chairman of the Herts Valleys Clinical Commissoning Group, with the DVD at the Stanborough Centre, Watford.
