Vintage steam tractors and classic cars dating back 50 years were on show at this year’s St Albans Steam and Country Show.
Thousands of visitors enjoyed the sounds and sights of the 50th annual weekend show, organised by the Hertfordshire Steam Engine Preservation Society, which featured a wide array of historic steam engines, tractors, lorries and classic cars at Oakland College’s Smallford site, in Hatfield Road.
Car enthusiasts, old and young alike, were able to get up close with more than 30 historic steam engines, as well as learning about the workings of the machines.
Other attractions included demonstrations to show how the old equipment was used in days gone by, a working sawbench, thrashing machine, stone crusher, and other machinery.
Mark Waite from Herts Steam Club ltd, said: “It was a very good day. A lot of work went in to preparing the rally, which paid off.
“Before the start we were worried about the weather but in the end the sun came out and it was a very good day.
“We hope everyone had a good time. “
