A pedestrian who died at the roadside after an accident with a van in St Albans has been named as Brian Barrett.

Mr Barrett, 55 of Sunnydell was killed after he was involved in an accident with a Vauxhall Combi van travelling southeast along Tippendell Lane towards the A414 on Monday, June 23. 

Mr Barrett, who lived in the Chiswell Green area all his life and worked with his brother Richard as a gardener, sustained head injuries and was attended to by paramedics but died at the scene.
