Those from the St Albans and Harpenden area dealt with by magistrates on Friday, July 4.

Troy Ahern, 23, of Lemsford Road, St Albans. On November 27, 2013, with intent to deceive, impersonated a special constable or member of a police force. Also, on same date, threatened a person that would smash a mobile phone belonging to her. Also, on December 8, 2013, assaulted a person. Also, on February 19, 2014, with intent to deceive, impersonated a special constable or member of a police force. Community order made with exclusion and supervision requirements. Costs: £145.

James Allan, 24, of Ellis House, Charrington Place, St Albans. On March 20, 2014, en route near Harpenden station, failed to hand over ticket for inspection and verification of validity when asked to do so by an authorised person. Fine, compensation, costs: £281.10.

Denise Gathard, 21, of Heath Close, St Albans. On March 11, 2014, at St Albans station, failed to hand over ticket for inspection and verification of validity when asked to do so by an authorised person. Fine, compensation, costs: £351.30.

Kimberley Leefarr, 19, of Ellis House, Charrington Place, St Albans. On March 20, 2014, en route near Harpenden station, failed to hand over ticket for inspection and verification of validity when asked to do so by an authorised person. Fine, compensation, costs: £281.10.

The following were convicted of watching a colour television without a licence (fine plus costs in brackets; those marked * were dealt with in their absence): *Paula Clarke, 42, of Hilldyke Road, Wheathampstead (£450); *Charlotte Gowers, 26, of Tennyson Road, St Albans (£670); *Susanna Kiff, 40, of Masefield Road, Harpenden (£560); Kerry Smith, 39 (£177).
