Building contractors have had an application to change the use of a yard in St Albans turned down.
St Albans District Council turned down the application from Gullett & Sons to change the use of the builder’s yard in St Julians Road to residential.
The applicants applied to demolish existing buildings and garages to build three new homes.
The application was turned down because of a lack of information on trees that would be removed or retained.
The proposal was also considered to be too cramped, detracting from the character and appearance of the general locality.
