Police are appealing for information after a group of boys were the victims of attempted robbery in St Albans.

Four 12-year-old boys were walking across the field between Westminster lodge and Holywell Hill at about 4.20pm on Saturday, October 11.

The offenders, a group of four to five older youths, approached the victims and threatened them to hand over their phones. Nothing was taken and the victims walked away towards Westminster Lodge whilst the offenders made off towards Verulamium Park.

One of the offenders is described as being a white boy of stocky build who was of around 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins tall and aged between 14 and 15-years-old. He was wearing grey jogging bottoms, grey hooded top with hood up.

Police also want to speak to a boy aged 14 to 15-years-old who described as white, of a slim build with spiked up brown hair, and a boy aged 14 to 15-years-old who was described as Asian and of a skinny build. He was wearing a grey zip-up top with a white top underneath and grey jogging bottoms.

Finally police want to talk to a boy aged between 14 and 15-years-old who is described as being black, chubby, and about 5ft 4ins to 5ft 5ins tall.

Detective Constable Paul Cullinan is investigating and said: "There was a couple sitting under a tree around 200 yards from where the incident happened and I believe they will have seen what happened or have information which could prove vital to the investigation. If this was you please contact me. I would also like to hear from anyone else who was in the area at the time and can help."
