A woman was taken to hospital with a suspected spinal injury after being kicked by a horse in Harpenden.
The East of England Ambulance Service Trust was called to a field off Cross Lane at 8.25am to a report that a woman in her 50s had been kicked in the back by a horse.
A paramedic in a rapid response vehicle attended within eight minutes of the call and an ambulance crew was also called.
The patient, who was conscious and breathing, was taken to Luton and Dunstable Hospital for further treatment.
