Senior police officers joined crown court judges and local magistrates at the annual High Sheriff’s Justice Service at St Albans Cathedral last Sunday.
The event, held to celebrate justice, was also attended by St Albans Chief Inspector Ken Townsend, Staff Officer Chief Inspector Ruth Dodsworth, Hertsmere Chief Inspector Tannis Perks, and the St Albans and Harpenden Volunteer Police Cadets, who conducted marshalling duties and a guard of honour.
St Albans Chief Inspector Ken Townsend said: "It was a very moving ceremony and I felt very proud to represent the Constabulary. Law and justice is not just the police’s responsibility, we work closely with partner agencies and the courts to ensure offenders pay for their crimes."
