Lewis Carroll, store director of Specsavers St Albans, says: "The whole of St Albans came together to raise money for Comic Relief and we’re thrilled to say that over £580 has already been raised.

"We had Chris down, along with the Mayor and local residents - it was a fantastic day. We’re all big rugby fans, so it was great to have Chris come and support us.

"I’d also like to thank the girls at Champneys day spa for donating their time to wax my legs for charity."

Winners were drawn by Chris at 4.30pm where a signed pair of boots, a signed rugby shirt and a signed rugby ball were won by local residents.

Specsavers in St Albans has joined Specsavers stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa.
