Caroline Jones has raised more than £6,000 in three months with a unique fundraising challenge to wear a new charity shop outfit every day this year in honour of her late mother who died of breast cancer.

The 46-year-old from Harpenden is raising money in memory of her mother Mary Benson, who passed away in October.

Caroline will wear only "pre-loved" clothes for the whole of 2015 - with a new outfit every day from the Cancer Research UK shop in Harpenden's High Street where her mother volunteered for 13 years.

Caroline's quest has made her an internet sensation, and she has made several radio and TV appearances - including appearing on ITV's Loose Women.

Along with taking daily pictures of her outfits, Caroline will write a weekly piece in the Review with her outfit of the week.

Below is the first:

There is something about an A-line skirt that just works for my shape and therefore wins my "outfit of the week" award.

From the nipped in waist, the skimming of the hips, the length (stay below the knee for that '70s vibe) and the front fasteners which add the detail, it's one of the easiest shapes to wear and feel feminine in.

I found my version (no label) in this stone washed denim finish, giving a nod to the huge SS15 trend.

St Albans & Harpenden Review:

To soften the look I opted for this Forever21 electric blue silk top with cut out detail work and flattering cap sleeves and popped my beautiful Escada jacket over the shoulders.

I accessorised with my navy Falke footless tights, with just a peep of ankle on show and my electric blue vintage Saxone court shoes. Wood is a great alternative to metal jewellery and this bangle and tan leather clutch bring in an accent colour.

Round vintage earrings with flashes of jewel colours and lips by Barry M add the final twist.

My Escada jacket, denim skirt, Saxone heels, leather clutch, earrings, bangle and Stand Up To Cancer watch are all my own purchases from Cancer Research UK. Tights, lip colour and knickers, model's own.
