A former taxi driver has been found guilty of two offences of sexual assault.

Abid Hussain, 74, from Ridgeway, been sentenced to a 12 month supervised Community Order and placed on the Sex Offenders register for five years.

Hussain, a former taxi driver for 14 years, was found guilty when he appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court on February 24.

The offences took place between 2011 and 2013.

In 2011, Hussain kissed a lone female passenger without her consent whilst she was sitting in the front seat of his taxi.

Then in 2013, Hussain touched the leg of another lone female passenger whilst she was sitting in the back of his taxi.

On both occasions Hussain was making inappropriate sexual comments to the women.

Detective Constable Dean Trollope from St Alban’s Local Crime Unit, said: “Ali Abid Hussain took advantage of his position as a taxi driver and assaulted these two women, in what should have been a place of safety.

“By them coming forward and reporting it to Police, it has meant that Mr Hussain will no longer be able to drive a taxi and he has been placed on the sex offenders register.”
