A church in Harpenden opened its door to hundreds of families and friends for its Golden Jubilee Celebration.
All Saints Church in Station Road, Harpenden held a special service, which was led by the Right Reverend Alan Smith, Lord Bishop of St Albans and the Associate Vicar of the church, Reverend Linda Williams, to mark the occasion.
During his sermon, Bishop Alan cut one of three 50th birthday cakes, dedicated a new lectern, honours board of clergy, and blessed the new church toilet which has been twinned with a toilet in Africa.
After the service guests placed a stone on the Jubilee Cairn and attended a champagne and birthday cake reception.
Further events to celebrate the Jubilee include a concert by the Music Makers on October 17 and All Saints Day on November 1.
