A child contact centre has been presented with a cheque from a fundraising event.

The St Albans Rayden Solicitors raised £4405.16 for the Harpenden Child Contact Centre through a number of events throughout the year.

The Harpenden Child Contact Centre provides a neutral meeting place where children of separate families may enjoy contact with one or both parents.

Tony Gilbert, trustee of Harpenden Child Contact Centre, said: “We were absolutely delighted when we heard that Rayden’s had chosen us as their Charity of the Year for 2015.

“They have pulled out all the stops ever since then to raise what is a really significant amount of money for a small charity like ours.

“Thanks to their tremendous efforts, the Centre can plan for the future with confidence, knowing that we have the resources we need to provide a service that makes such a difference to the children and parents who come to us on a Saturday afternoon.”

Each year, the staff at the firm vote each year for their chosen charity and hold various events to raise money for it.

Katherine Rayden said: “We have been delighted to work with the Harpenden Child Contact Centre.

“The charity’s service is invaluable for children who are experiencing challenging times and we have been staggered by the commitment of everyone involved, all of whom are volunteers.”
