Four charities will benefit from a concert by the Royal Marines Band in St Albans.

The annual visit by the band to the Alban Arena is taking place this Friday.

The concert will feature classical, popular and military music and is being organised by the Rotary Clubs of Radlett, St Albans and St Albans Verulamium.

The charities which will be helped are Help for Heroes, People with High-functioning Autistic Disorders, St Francis Hospice in Berkhamsted and Earthworks.

The St Albans Mayor, Cllr Salih Gaygusuz, St Albans MP Anne Main and Cllr Martin Worster, mayor of Hertsmere Borough Council will be among those attending.

Cllr Gaygusuz said: “Attending the Royal Marines Band concert will be one of the highlights of my year in office. They have been coming to St Albans for 30 years and have built up strong links with the city.

“This annual concert is a wonderful unmissable occasion and it also raises money for four very good causes. “

Questions about tickets, priced £20 and £24, should be made to the Alban Arena on www.albanarena.co.uk or 01727 844488.
