A man has been charged with 11 counts of burglary after rugby clubs and social buildings were broken into and thousands of pounds stolen.
Luke Giugno, 27, of Farley Hill Road in Luton, has been charged with the burglaries, including one at Old Albanians Sports Club in St Albans on March 13 and one at Harpenden Rugby Club in Harpenden between March 6 and 9.
During each break-in cash was stolen from inside the premises.
Mr Giugno is also charged with possession of a small quantity of cannabis at Luton on April 15.
He appeared at Hatfield Remand Court on April 16 where he was remanded in custody and is due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on May 16.
