A thief who stole charity collection tins from pubs has been sentenced to 12 months in prison.
Keith Mcguire, of Hopkins Crescent, Sandridge, pleaded guilty to five thefts and two counts of attempted burglary at St Albans Crown Court, on November 24.
The 44-year-old’s offences included stealing eight charity tins and a mobile phone from pubs in the St Albans area, throughout October and November of this year.
The charities he stole from were the National Autistic Society, Alzheimer’s Charity, Cancer Research, Poppy Appeal, Royal British Legion, Samaritans, Marie Curie Cancer and Macmillan Cancer.
Some of the pubs included The Farmers Boy in London Road, The Mermaid in Hatfield Road and the The Green Man in High Street, Sandridge.
