Volunteer police cadets were invited to an annual event celebrating justice and the rule of law across the county.

The cadets, from St Albans and Harpenden, accompanied Chief Constable Charlie Hall at the High Sheriff's Justice Service which celebrates justice and the rule of law in Hertfordshire/

During the ceremony, Hertfordshire's High Sheriff Stelio Stefanou thanked the police, judges, magistrates, authorities and partners for their efforts in helping bring justice to the county.

Chief Constable Hall said: "Law and justice is not just the police’s responsibility, we work closely with partner agencies and the courts to ensure offenders pay for their crimes.

"The High Sheriff’s service recognises this work which is undertaken daily by those within the criminal justice arena and I was proud to represent Hertfordshire Constabulary at the event.

"The cadets did a fantastic job on the day and I commend their dedication to the Constabulary."

During the event the cadets conducted marshalling duties and a guard of honour.

Sergeant Steve Alison, who leads the St Albans and Harpenden Cadet Unit, said: "The local cadets have taken part in the event for the past few years and are immensely proud to be involved.

"It was a thought-provoking ceremony and I thank the cadets for once again giving up their time to represent the Constabulary.”
