The drama department at St Albans High School for Girls (STAHS) showcased the varied talents of the students in their performance of the classic musical Oklahoma.
Set in 1907, the story tells of the young farmers and cowboys starting life out in a brand new state of Oklahoma. The full-scale musical with full female cast also saw girls perform in the band and run the technical aspects of the performance.
With uplifting songs such as O What a Beautiful Morning and The Farmer and the Cowman, audiences were treated to a high-energy show complete with an outstanding dance troupe to round off the musical numbers.
Acting Head of Drama Anna Bullen said: “The girls threw themselves into this performance – the music, the acting and the dancing. It was a fantastic production. Congratulations to all who were involved.”
The senior school has won the Sunday Times Independent Secondary School of the Year Award 2015-2016 - stahs.org.uk
