A cyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash in London Colney.

The cyclist was approaching the junction with St Annes Road, in High Street, when he collided with a BMW on November 18, at around 6.40am.

The man, in his 50s, suffered a broken back and severe bleeding and was taken to Barnet Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the BMW, which is described as either a blue or black 1 Series, is believed to have lost control and ended up on the opposite side of the carriageway before driving off towards The Bell roundabout.

PC Rishi Patel, from the St Albans Intervention and Rescue Team, said: “The cyclist suffered some nasty injuries but he is now on the slow road to recovery.

“I am appealing to the driver of the BMW to please make contact with me as they may be able to assist me.”

Anyone with information should call Hertfordshire Constabulary on 101.
