Storm Doris destroyed a “well-loved” tree in Verulamium Park.
The tree, which was uprooted by the gale force winds on Thursday, was one of four pine trees that line the former Roman Wall of Verulamium.
Resident Peter Wares said: “Although these trees are not mentioned in the guide books, they and the view of the Cathedral from this spot, are regarded by many as the most stunning and memorable views of St Albans.
"This pine tree will be missed by many."
