A football stand was set on fire in an arson attack.
The stand at St Albans City Football Club, in York Road, St Albans, was set on fire between 2.30pm on March 5 and 10am on March 6.
It is believed offenders gained entry to the football ground and attempted to set fire to the stand.
It is also believed they used sand buckets to put the fire out before leaving.
Tom Norman, general manager at the football club, said: "This is terrible. It was a wooden stand and more damage could have been caused.
"It looks like the people panicked and used sand which we keep next to the ground to put out the fire."
Anyone with information about this should contact Hertfordshire Constabulary on 101.
