Emergency services are tackling a huge fire in St Albans that sent thick smoke billowing into the sky and across the city.
The blaze broke out at around 11am on an industrial estate close to the city centre off London Road, by the junction with Orient Close.
A fire service spokesperson confirmed it started in a car workshop that was totally ablaze when crews arrived.
Work is ongoing to limit the spread to neighbouring commercial properties.
Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue says at least 11 fire engines and its aerial ladder platform are at the scene, with at least 50 firefighters on-site.
There are no reports of injuries on social media but emergency services have been contacted for confirmation.
The area has been evacuated and police have put a large cordon in place in London Road between Cunningham Avenue and Orient Close.
Social media has been flooded with images and videos of smoke across the sky with people in London Colney and Chiswell Green spotting smoke.
