St Albans City FC and Looking Glass Alice create 'Feliz Navidad' song

The team's version of Feliz Navidad features player's names such as Michael Clark, Joy Mukena and Callum Adebiyi.

The tune was played for the first time following Saturday's (December 10) 3-0 home win over Chelmsford City.

Looking Glass Alice's Sarah MacQueen told The Herts Advertiser of other jingles created in collaboration with 'The Saints': "We've done quite a lot of them.

"Before, we've done Joe Neal instead of 'Jolene' (the Dolly Parton hit).

"Will Tyrer, the club's media executive, shot a Western-style video for that in a bar!

"It's really fun, we love supporting him with his really great ideas!"

Speaking of how important it is for the band to connect with local organisations such as football clubs, Sarah continued: "I think it's so important!

"We absolutely love doing things like that.

"We have supported other local endeavours, there's a Hertford charity called Mudlarks. They support adults with learning difficulties and disabilities.

"We really love them as well, we've done a couple of Christmas singles with the proceeds going to them."

St Albans City FC's media executive Will Tyrer told The Herts Advertiser: "The club are always trying to work our connection with the music industry, especially thanks to our partnership with (shirt sponsors) Enter Shikari.

"After launching our music themed 'Clash Kit', it seemed the perfect way to continue our growth via those artists on our doorstep.

"The song itself was a fun idea which has allowed us to bridge between football and music, and hopefully brings some entertainment to those on the terraces."
