Negotiations for the sale of Green Belt land, in order to begin construction on a new rail freight terminal, are still ongoing despite fears that a sale had been completed.
Residents had previously concluded that a sale of the former Radlett Airfield site had taken place, after receiving a note from rail freight developers SEGRO.
The note read: "Helioslough Limited continues to work with key stakeholders to bring forward the Radlett SRFI scheme as soon as possible, in order to deliver this crucial piece of national infrastructure for which planning consent has been secured.

"The merits of the scheme were exhaustively addressed during the planning process."
When approached for comment, a spokesperson for Hertfordshire Council confirmed to The Herts Advertiser that no sale has yet taken place, and negotiations are ongoing.

Hertfordshire County Council had agreed to sell the land during a meeting in December.
However, no sale has yet taken place.
Planning permission has previously been granted for the rail freight terminal by once-secretary of state Eric Pickles.
