FUNDRAISING events seem to be taking place left, right and centre and now even toddlers are becoming part of the new generation of givers.

Toddlers have done their bit for charity by taking part in a sponsored stroll to raise money for the charity Barnardo's.

Parents signed their children up to take part in a half mile walk which took place at Verulamium Park, St. Albans, on Thursday June 19.

The Toddle is a national campaign which sees children under the age of five walk to raise awareness and money for charity. It is supported by TV presenter Melinda Messenger.

She said: "Whether you organise your own event or join a Barnardo's Big Toddle, it's always lots of fun, we like to make a day of it and take a picnic.

"The children love being involved and getting sponsored and I think it's a great way for my kids to learn about children in the UK who are much less fortunate than them."

Since 1995 1.5 million toddlers have taken part in the walk and have raised close to £7 million for the children's charity.
