An historic steam train tour from London to York's Christmas market - stopping in Hertfordshire - is "selling very well" according to its organisers.

The Britannia 70000 will stop at Potters Bar and Hitchin on its way to York's famous 'St Nicholas Fair' on Saturday, November 18.

The train itself was the first of 55 Standard class 7 engines to be built in Crewe by British Railways, and hauled the The Royal Train in January 2012.

The tour's organiser's have confirmed that tickets are selling well, but some availability remains in the First Class and Pullman Dining areas.

A spokesperson for Steam Dreams said: "York, as a destination, and our Christmas market tours are always extremely popular.

"The tour is selling very well, we still have availability in First Class and Pullman Dining and limited tables for two left."
