A St Albans postbox topper has been saved after being taken and placed on a roof.
The Three Kings topper was saved on Friday (December 29) after being taken from its postbox at the corner of Victoria Street and Liverpool Road.
The item was placed on a roof near the junction of Victoria Street and Upper Marlborough Road, leading to a plea for help from the group which organises the annual event.
St Albans Postboxes wrote on Facebook: "People of St Albans - we need your help!
"The three kings are in trouble (again). They've been removed from their postbox a few times this month. But currently they've been put in a spot where we just can't reach them.
"Is there anyone nearby with a ladder, who would be able to safely rescue the three kings?

Just half an hour after this plea was put online, a family climbed a ladder and rescued the kings.
Co-founder of the St Albans Postboxes initiative, Clare Suttie added: "We’re very grateful for postbox topper supporters swinging into action, and within 30 minutes Beth Good and family had climbed a ladder and rescued the three kings."
