Harpenden's Andrew Malik to star in The Persian Version

The Persian Version will be released on Friday (March 22) and follows Iranian-American Leila as her family unites in New York City.

Andrew will play Eman, one of Leila's brothers, in the film which has already won two awards at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival - the Audience Award and Waldo Salt Screenwriting award.

The 26-year-old actor is of Persian Assyrian descent and has previously starred in short movies Two Metres Down and Red Rose.

The film's description reads: "Punctuated by a bright colour palette, snappy comedic relief, and vibrant dance numbers, The Persian Version delvers an honest portrayal of a woman who remains unapologetically herself, blended seamlessly into a heartfelt story about family, belonging, and the undeniable influence of pop music.
