This year's first peregrine falcon chicks have hatched at St Albans Cathedral.
The first offspring was spotted at 6am this morning (Tuesday, May 7) with the site proudly proclaiming "hatching day has arrived" on social media.
Just after 11am, a second chick was spotted in the nest. Mother and father have been taking it in turns to mind the nest.
Two videos have been posted by the cathedral this morning, showing the latest additions to the falcon family.
The peregrine falcons initially nested at the site in 2022, and are one of just five breeding pairs in Hertfordshire.
