THE MPs' watchdog has confirmed it is investigating St Albans MP Anne Main's claims for a flat where her daughter lives.

Heather Wood of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards told the Review: “I can confirm there will be an invesitigation into Mrs Main's claims for additional cost allowance.

“We can't really give a timescale or predict how long it will take.”

She could not say how many complaints had prompted the investigation .

The local branch of the Conservative Party, and Mrs Main's Westminster office, have not yet responded to the Review's invitation to comment.
