ROADS around Chiswell Green are certain to fill with traffic if the railfreight project goes ahead, a Chiswell Green resident has told the inquiry.
John Bell of the Chiswell Green Residents' Association said: “This is an appallingly designed scheme, in the wrong place and fraught with problems.
“Traffic flows around St Albans are among the heaviest in Hertfordshire, because of the proximity of the M1 and M25 motorways.
“If this scheme is allowed to go ahead this side of St Albans will be regularly gridlocked.”
