CAMPAIGN group Strife is trying to impose a new planning condition to restrict the railfreight terminal to Helioslough's prediction of 3,200 lorry movements a day.

Mr Kingston argued against the condition, claiming it was designed to ensure the terminal could never operate, but Strife's barrister Paul Stinchcombe responded : “It is not all a wrecking condition.

“It is designed to ensure the scheme operates as a railfreight interchange. It is not all inconsistent with the appellant's stated objectives.”

Some of the scheme's critics claim there will be as many as 5,300 lorry movements a day.
