PATIENTS prescribed slimming pills from several clinics across the country - including one in Welwyn Garden City - are being urged to contact their GP immediately following an investigation into drug offences.

Police are appealing to anyone prescribed the tablets from the Easyslim clinic in New Road, Stanborough, to seek medical advice following the arrest and charge of a 57-year-old woman from Romford in relation to drug supply offences.

Investigatiing officer Detective Superintendent Jane Swinburne said: “Anyone who has been prescribed tablets at these clinics should make contact with their GP or a local pharmacist who can offer further healthcare advice.

"This inquiry will continue for some time but our priority at the moment is making sure those who have attended these clinics are aware of the situation.

"We have already posted messages at the clinics to warn the public and wanted to make a wider appeal.

“In the past few days, we have been working to identify the locations of the clinics and anybody else who may be connected with this investigation.
