A “community evening of carols” will be held in Radlett next month to raise money for the local branch of the Rotary Club.

Organised by the Radlett Rotary Club, the concert will feature a performance by the St Albans City Band and carols by children from Fairfield and Newberries primary schools.

The free event has been running since the branch opened in 1977 and money collected on the night goes to the Rotary Club Fund, which provides help for various community groups.

Rotarian Glenda Green said: “It is really lovely and we are looking forward to it. In the past we have donated money to the local scouts, as well as provided day trips for the elderly at Abbeyfield care home and for disadvantaged children.”

The concert will take place at The Radlett Centre, in Aldenham Avenue, on Wednesday, December 15, starting at 7.30pm.

Doors will open at 7pm and light refreshments will be available – the concert is due to finish by about 9pm.
