ST ALBANS Abbey will be in the full swing of Christmas as it hosts an evening of carols in aid of a worthy cause.

The Willow Foundation's Christmas carol concert will be held on Wednesday, December 1, from 7.30pm.

It will be attended by the charity's founders Arsenal legend Bob Wilson and his wife Megs.

Hertfordshire-based Willow Foundation, which provides special days out for seriously ill 16 to 40-year-olds, was set up in memory of Bob and Megs' daughter who died of cancer aged just 31. As a musical treat The Hertfordshire Chorus, stars of BBC's 2 The Choir, will lead the congregation in song.

Tickets are £9 for adults and £4 for under 16s. For more information or to book tickets visit www.willowfoundation.org.uk or telephone 01707 259777.

Bob said: "This is our second year in this breathtaking venue for our magical Christmas carol concert.

"We've been able to provide almost 7,000 special days thanks to the support of so many local people in Hertfordshire and we would love everyone to join us for this festive concert. Last year was a sell-out so book your tickets now."
