MORE than 50 people turned out for a street party held in a residential St Albans street yesterday to mark the Big Lunch.
The sun was shining for the start of the lunch in Upper Culver Road, while residents shared food and enjoyed entertainment.
Even a late downpour of rain failed to dampen their spirits.
Ruth Tatarowicz, one of the main organisers, said: "This is the second time we've decided to join in with the Big Lunch and once again it's been a great success.
"It's easy because everyone looks after their own lunch, but people mucked in with raffles and music; we even had a bouncy castle and barbecue.
"This is a really friendly street, but to be honest if you do something like this, your street becomes instantly friendly."
