TWO young teenagers were punched in the face by members of a gang while in Clarence Park last month, police have just revealed.
The assault happened on Saturday, May 14, at about 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
The boys, one aged 12 and the other 13, were approached by a group of older boys.
One of the older boys punched the 12-year-old in the face, causing his nose to bleed.
He was also kicked before a member of the public intervened and stopped the assault. Another older boy from the group then punched the 13-year-old boy in the face. He did not suffer any injuries.
The group of boys, and the main suspect, then left the scene in an unknown direction.
The main suspect is described as a white teenage boy, around 15 yearsold, with short brown hair and approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall.
He was also reported to be wearing a grey hooded top. The group of boys with the main offender are thought to have been of a similar age.
Investigating officer PC Barry Eldridge said: “Approaching two young teenage boys and assaulting them in this manner is unacceptable and I am determined to find those responsible.”
