A MAN from St Albans will run 76 miles in just one day to raise money for a young carers charity.

Mark Kennedy, of Beaconsfield Road, will put his paces to the test as he runs across the Yorkshire Dales on June 18.

Speaking about the Dales Way run, Mark said: “The challenge is daunting but I am really looking forward to it as it is a beautiful part of the country.

“I probably haven't done as much training as I should have done but I have enjoyed lots of long runs on the various footpaths and bridleways around St Albans.”

Mark will be raising money for The Princess Royal Trust for Carers which offers advice, information and support to unpaid family carers.

Mark added: “Having children myself, I am full of admiration for the children and young adults that are in that position. I know the work young carers do to support these children and wanted to support them in turn.”
