BUSINESSES that have banded together to support each other through the current difficult economic climate will be holding another meeting next week.

An Afternoon in the Pub has been set up by a group of designers and social media experts for businesses, big or small, to pick up advice and share experiences with others.

Matt Bigg, from The Collective design agency, one of the brains behind the monthly concept, said the free event was set up to help businesses thrive during a time when traders are struggling and many are closing down.

The support network gives business owners a chance to talk through issues they face and pick up advice from people in the same situation, without having to pay the price for the expertise.

The last event was held before Christmas at The White Hart Tap and the next will be at from 2pm at Bar 62 in Catherine Street, on Wednesday, January 18, a child-friendly event for traders who have young children and want to bring them along.
