The Harpenden Society is hosting a public meeting on Thursday evening to debate the problem of primary and secondary school places in the town.
Chris Marsden, chairman of the Harpenden Society, will chair the event, called "There's a Place for us...Maybe" and lead the discussion on whether there is a place for all Harpenden children in local primary and secondary schools. There will also be a debate on what might be done to improve the situation.
Contributing speakers are Dr Eric Midwinter, convenor of the society's education and leisure working group, David Beer, chairman of Harpenden Parents Group and Ben Beardsley, education officer, Harpenden Parents Group.
The free event, open to all, is in Park Hall, Leyton Road, Harpenden AL5 2LX on Thursday and starts at 7:30pm with light refreshments. The formal meeting starts at 8pm. After the introductory presentations there will be an open forum for all to contribute.
