A FIREWORKS display rounded off a day of diamond jubilee celebrations in Chestnut Drive, St Albans.
More than 130 people turned out for the street party to mark the Queen's diamond jubilee, held with residents from Langford Close, with organisers describing it as a "fantastic day".
There activities for both young and old including face painting, a treasure hunt, cake decorating and lots of dancing.
Mayor of St Albans Eileen Harris judged the cake making competition, which followed a tug of war, vintage makeovers and an unusual Malteser smashing game.
This was the first time in ten years the residents had gathered for a street party and one of the organisers, Karen Totton, said: "Everyone was reluctant to end the party but left enthusiastic about having a street event next year."
