St Albans Ladies earned a 1-0 victory at Sandy Ladies.
The match started off very well for the visitors despite a heavy and partially waterlogged pitch. The football played by City was great to watch as they moved the ball all around the pitch with confidence.
However, Sandy defended well on the edge of their penalty box and it was level at the end of the first half.
The start of the second period was much the same as the first with City out performing Sandy.
Great work by Lucy Hancock, Megan Kiff and Laura Hunter in midfield created a chance for in-form striker Christina Freestone to fire a long-range effort into the top corner via a small deflection.
The last ten minutes off the match saw Sandy throw everything at City's defence, but they held on for all three points.
