St Albans CC held on for their second draw of the season against Hitchin at Clarence Park in Herts Division One.

Having won the toss and elected to bat, Rob Nicol starred for the away side, scoring a well made 97 before being dismissed just shy of his century by Mark Telkman, who finished with excellent figures of five for 54 off 13 overs.

Mansroor Raja also bowled well for the Saints, picking up two for 92 off 26 overs as Hitchin finished on 190 for eight from their 53 overs.

St Albans sought to chase down the total well but were hampered after losing wickets at regular intervals.

Steven Flint was the pick of the Hitchin bowlers with four for 33 off ten overs. Aaron Jones continued his early-season form with 50 and was ably supported by Craig Bennett-Scotcher (41 not out) as Saints finished up with 158 for nine.

The Seconds lost by four wickets to Bayford & Hertford in Division Four.

St Albans were dismissed for 132 in 39.2 overs. Bayford had few problems chasing down this total as they reached the target for the loss of six wickets in 34.5 overs.

St Albans Thirds claimed a convincing 101-run win over Division Seven rivals Great Gaddesden.

The Saints won the toss and posted a very competitive total of 201 for five, Andy Rudlin (56) and Amit Rajani (56) starred for the home side.

Despite positive intent from Gaddesden, the run chase never really got going as St Albans coupled their batting performance with equally good bowling.

Uttam Vijender and Christian Hay did most of the damage for the side, picking up five for 22 and four for 36 respectively as Gaddesden were bowled out for 100.

St Albans Fourths suffered a seven-wicket defeat to Watford Town Thirds in Division 11 West.

The side could only score 129 all out in 47.2 overs and their opponents reached the target for the loss of just three wickets.
