Townsend held their first ever midweek gala with Harpenden running out as winners.
The club welcomed 20 teams from as far away as Bletchley Town. The event was opened by councillor Geoff Harrison, mayor of St Albans and Harpenden who bowled the first wood before passing over to the event organiser Peter Thomson.
After all four matches had been played, the first five teams were only divided by one point, with four equal on 47. Analysis of the number of ends won still left three in the reckoning but actual shot difference created a result.
Harpenden came out on top by a solitary point through Eamon and Dena Roberts and Lucy Radcliffe.
Abbots Langley finished as the runners-up while Townsend came in third spot.
