St Albans Hockey Club Firsts will end the season as runners-up in the East Premier Division despite winning their final game 3-2 at Saffron Walden. The title, and promotion which comes with it, headed to Old Loughtonians.
The great escape was so close to coming off for the Seconds in the London Premier as they played out a thrilling 5-5 draw against their relegation rivals East Grinstead. It wasn’t to be, though, as only three points would have saved them from the drop.
The Thirds beat Chiswick 5-2 to finish fourth in London League Division 3.
The Ladies Firsts team succumbed to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Harleston Magpies but still managed a top-half finish in the National League East Conference.
The Ladies Seconds produced another excellent win as they beat Wapping Firsts 2-1 to secure third place in the East Premier Division.
The Sixths beat Bishops Stortford 5-2 and an impressive display from the 9s saw them beat Hartford 12-1. Both teams are still chasing promotion.
