St Albans continue to struggle in Herts Cricket League Division One after they were beaten by eight wickets against Broxbourne on Saturday.
A poor display with the bat is what ultimately proved St Albans’ undoing. They started the game at the crease but could only make 117 runs before they were dismissed in the 35th over of their innings.
It was a total they weren’t able to defend and Broxbourne eased to victory with little fuss. They lost two wickets but chased down the required runs in the 23rd over.
St Albans Seconds fared better than their first XI counterparts and they produced a fine display to overcome Chorleywood Seconds by nine wickets in Division Four.
Wood posted 226 for three from their allotted overs but the commanding total was not enough as St Albans lost just one wicket in reply as they chased down the runs.
St Albans Thirds lost by five wickets against Watton-on-Stone in Division Seven while there was the same result for the Fourths against Bushey Thirds in Division 12 West.
