Batchwood Hall Ladies had a mixed week after losing to North Mymms and beating Oxhey.

The team lost to North Mymms in the district league on both rinks as their opponents came away with 80 points.

In the home match, Batchwood earned a 45-34 win over Oxhey with top rink Vera Baddams, Judith Simons, Tricia Brady and Liz Schlatter coming out on top 21-15.

In the home match against Harpenden, Pat Savage, Barbara Palmer and Pam Ward won 23-5 and in the away match Teresa Wood, Christine Vickers and Liz Schlatter were victorious 19-10.

Batchwood men lost by 16 shots in their district league match at North Mymms despite both teams winning two rinks apiece.

Top rink for Batchwood was Ray Singh, Chris Whiting, Adrian Baddams and Dave Norrell (25-18).

Batchwood were narrowly beaten 79-75 in a friendly match at St Albans.

Both teams won two rinks apiece and the visitors’ top rink was Stan Endericks, Ray Singh, Bob Aris and John Harvey (24-21).

In a mixed match, Batchwood beat Harperbury 74-56 on all four rinks.

The top rink for Batchwood was Dick Brewster, Ray Singh, Mac McGregor and Sylvia Brewster (25-9).

Baddams and Jim Head beat Gary West and Peter Armstrong at Townsend 20-18 in the district pairs competition.
