Harpenden’s Emily Arbuthnott and Georgie Walker have both made the draw of the Nike Junior National Tennis Championships which started on Monday.
Arbuthnott, will compete in the Under-16 girls’ event while Georgie Walker will compete in the Under-16 and Under-18 events at the Nottingham Tennis Centre.
The championships are the highest level competition for all juniors and the pinnacle of the summer domestic calendar. The tournament features more than 250 players across four age groups and is a showcase for British tennis and the best junior talent in the country.
Previous winners include Andy Murray, Heather Watson, Tim Henman, Elena Baltacha and Anne Keothavong.
